5 Tips to look 5 Years Younger
If you were lucky enough to be born with youthful genes, then you probably won’t need to read this article. But for the rest of us, there’s no need to spend a fortune seeing a cosmetic physician to look younger. Is it time to soften your hair colour? Having the wrong hair colour can make you look older. Even if you’re naturally dark, try a colour that’s a shade lighter. Another tip is to try bangs. Not only will they cover wrinkles, they’ll also make your hair seem fuller. Finally, remember to mosturise your hair regularly in the same way as you moisturise your skin. Having healthy shiny hair is an easy way to keep you looking younger.
Always remember to moisturise well before applying makeup and use a liquid concealer to blur imperfections and cover redness and circles near the eyes. It’s a sad fact but, as you age, you’ll find you have more to conceal. If a concealer doesn’t always work, try using a damp sponge to apply your foundation smoothly over blemishes.
Go Longer and Taller. Even if you’ve got a great figure, consider wearing longer jackets or sweaters to add elegance and sophistication. Aim at skimming your mid-thigh and covering your bum but avoid overwhelming your frame. To elongate legs, match the colour of your shoes to your stockings, skirt or pants. The darker they are, the longer and slimmer your legs will appear. Shoes that cover the top of your feet, fitted knee-high boots and pointy shoes will also elongate legs. Avoid ankle straps as they can make legs appear shorter and thicker.
When the time comes to wear glasses, experiment with cool and trendy styles. Glasses have become a fashion accessory and there are many styles available that won’t break the bank. Have a few pairs in different colours so that you can match them with your outfit. Wear glasses like you wear jewellery – with attitude! It may also be time to give up the black eyeliner and try deep brown instead. It has the same impact but is less jarring.
Drink Lots of Water. It’s as simple as that. If your body is even slightly dehydrated, it impacts on how you look and feel. A body craving water results in dehydrated and shrivelled skin. By drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day, the skin will look fuller and less wrinkly. If you find that in the cooler months, it’s not as easy to drink cold water, not try herbal tea. These will help rehydrate and may also offer other health benefits.
